Description

These evaporators and concentrators from Glas-Col are configured for high-density microplate processing, handling either 96-well or 384-well formats. A built-in flow meter enables monitoring and adjustment of the total gas flow entering an equalizer manifold. This component splits the flow evenly, delivering an identical volume of nitrogen or another inert gas to each well through dedicated stainless steel needles to ensure uniform sample drying. The needle assembly is vertically adjustable to fit different plate geometries. The system operates with a flow rate range of 1 to 100 mL per needle, providing controlled solvent evaporation. Typical applications include workflows in bio-analytical chemistry and molecular biology, such as solid-phase extraction, combinatorial chemistry, DNA synthesis, and other procedures requiring the concentration of liquid samples prior to analysis.
