Description

The Eppendorf Vacufuge Plus is a vacuum concentrator system used for the gentle removal of solvents from sensitive samples, including nucleic acids and proteins. It employs a combination of centrifugal force, vacuum, and optional controlled heating to speed evaporation while aiming to reduce sample loss. The unit operates at a vortexing speed of 1400 rpm. It is constructed with a chemical-resistant chamber and utilizes a motorless induction drive. The system is available in several configurations: a basic device requiring an external vacuum source, a complete system with an integrated oil-free PTFE diaphragm pump and trap, and a system where the integrated pump can also port vacuum to external devices via a junction. It supports a broad selection of rotors for tubes ranging from 0.2 mL to 50 mL and various plate formats, enabling the processing of diverse sample types. Its design is compact for benchtop placement.
