Description

Eppendorf's 5430 series microcentrifuges offer high capacity and versatility in a compact design. The Model 5430 operates at ambient temperature, while the Model 5430 R is a refrigerated version with a temperature range from -11°C to 40°C. Both units can reach a maximum speed of 17,500 rpm. Their flexibility stems from compatibility with eight different rotors, enabling the processing of tubes from 0.2 ml up to 50 ml conical tubes, as well as microplates. This makes them suitable as a space-efficient replacement for larger general-purpose centrifuges. Operation is managed through a menu-driven interface with a backlit LCD, which can store 50 user programs. Five shortcut keys allow for instant recall of frequently used protocols. The system includes automatic rotor recognition with speed limiting and imbalance detection. The refrigerated 5430 R model adds specific temperature management features: a programmable pre-cool timer (FastTemppro), a dynamic compressor control for efficient cooling, an ECO mode that powers down the compressor after eight hours of idle time, and a built-in condensation drain. Both models are available with either a rotary knob or a flat keypad interface and are backed by a two-year warranty.
