epMotion 5070 and 5075 Automated Pipetting Systems

Description

Eppendorf's epMotion 5070 and 5075 are automated liquid handling platforms designed to increase efficiency and reproducibility in the laboratory. The epMotion 5070 model automates manual pipetting protocols using technology based on the company's piston-stroke pipettes. Its deck provides space for four ANSI/SBS standard microplates and supports a wide range of labware, from 0.2 mL to 50 mL tubes and microplates with up to 384 wells. Precise liquid transfer is achieved across a volume range of 1 µL to 1 mL using calibrated single-channel or 8-channel pipetting tools. An integrated optical sensor checks for correct labware placement and tip presence. The system is typically housed in a fully enclosed unit with a safety door. The epMotion 5075 LH variant features a larger deck with twelve microplate positions and includes an automatic tool exchange system. This allows the instrument to autonomously switch between a gripper, a single-channel tool, and an 8-channel tool during a protocol. Both systems can be enhanced with optional software for barcode reading, LIMS/ELN connectivity, and support for compliance with regulatory standards like GLP and 21 CFR Part 11.
