Description

The Empyrean X-ray Diffraction System from Malvern Panalytical is a versatile platform for X-ray diffraction analysis. It is built around a 4 kW X-ray generator compatible with a range of current and future X-ray tubes. The system employs a vertical goniometer, available in either theta-theta or alpha-1 geometry. Several detector options are supported, including proportional counters, scintillation detectors, PIXcel1D, PIXcel3D, and GaliPIX3D detectors. The instrument's dimensions are 1400 mm in width, 1162 mm in depth, and 1947 mm in height. A key feature is its MultiCore Optics technology, which allows the system to perform a broad array of measurements on diverse sample types—such as powders, thin films, nanomaterials, and bulk solids—without requiring manual optical reconfiguration. This design facilitates applications ranging from advanced materials research to educational demonstrations, and provides full user access to the sample chamber for ease of operation.
