EDX-8100 Energy Dispersive X-ray Fluorescence Spectrometer
Manufacturer: Shimadzu
SKU: EDX-8100
Description
The EDX-8100 from Shimadzu is an energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence (EDXRF) spectrometer configured for elemental analysis. It is designed to identify and quantify elements ranging from carbon to uranium in a variety of sample matrices. The system employs a rhodium-target X-ray tube and a silicon drift detector (SDD) that is cooled electronically, removing the requirement for liquid nitrogen. This detector features an ultra-thin window to enhance sensitivity for lighter elements. The instrument's large sample chamber can accommodate diverse sample types, including electrical and electronic materials, ceramics, petrochemical products, chemicals, soil, pharmaceuticals, and food items. Analytical performance is optimized through the use of five primary filters. Operation is conducted via the PCEDX Navi software, which provides control over instrument functions, method development, and data reporting. For specialized applications, optional accessories such as vacuum or helium purge systems are available to extend the analytical range.
