EDX-7200 Energy Dispersive X-ray Fluorescence Spectrometer
Manufacturer: Shimadzu
SKU: EDX-7200
Description
Shimadzu's EDX-7200 is an energy-dispersive X-ray fluorescence (EDXRF) spectrometer configured for rapid, high-sensitivity elemental analysis. The system employs a rhodium-target X-ray tube and a high-resolution silicon drift detector (SDD) to provide efficient count rates and excellent energy resolution, aiding in the separation of closely spaced spectral peaks. It is capable of analyzing a wide variety of sample types, such as electrical and electronic materials, ceramics, oils and petrochemicals, chemicals, soil, pharmaceuticals, and food products. A significant application area is regulatory compliance screening for directives like RoHS, ELV, REACH, and TSCA, for which dedicated pre-configured kits are available. The instrument features a spacious sample chamber to accommodate solids, powders, and liquids in various forms. Operational capabilities include a four-stage automatic collimator, a sample observation camera, and a function that can shorten analysis time by automatically proceeding when a controlled substance is definitively above or below a set limit. Optional accessories include a vacuum measurement unit, a helium purge unit for improved sensitivity to light elements, and a 12-position sample turret for automated sequential analysis. System operation and data handling are managed through the PCEDX Navi software, which offers an intuitive interface suitable for users of all experience levels.
