EcoFlex™ System

Description

The EcoFlex System is a manual, single-oven instrument from KIN-TEK Analytical for producing precise trace gas mixtures. It functions by employing permeation or diffusion tubes, referred to as Trace Sources, which release a steady, minute vapor of a pure compound. This vapor is first blended with a precisely controlled stream of inert dilution gas, such as nitrogen or zero air, to establish a primary concentration. A larger, adjustable main flow of gas then further dilutes this mixture, allowing the user to regulate the final output concentration. Temperature stability for the permeation tubes is maintained to ensure a consistent emission rate. To prevent sample loss or contamination, all components in contact with the gas stream are fabricated from inert materials like Teflon, coated stainless steel, or glass. The unit offers a flow rate range from 0.25 to 5.0 standard liters per minute and has a compact, portable footprint measuring 6 inches wide, 20 inches deep, and 13.5 inches high. With access to over 550 different compounds and tube emission rates, the system can generate final concentrations spanning from parts-per-billion (ppb) levels to over 1000 parts-per-million (ppm). For a single tube, the concentration can be adjusted across a range of up to 20:1. This approach of generating calibration gases on-demand avoids the degradation and stability concerns inherent in pre-mixed gas cylinders.
