EC-32010CC JEOL Carbon Coater

Manufacturer: JEOL USA, Inc.

SKU: EC-32010CC

Description

The JEOL EC-32010CC is an automated instrument for applying conductive carbon coatings to samples intended for electron microscopy. This preparation step is essential for non-conductive specimens to prevent surface charging during analysis in scanning electron microscopes (SEM) or transmission electron microscopes (TEM). The system performs a fully automated sequence that includes evacuating the chamber, pre-heating the carbon source, and executing the evaporation process. It employs high-purity carbon rods that are designed for use without sharpening. Coating thickness is controlled by adjusting the distance between the sample stage and the evaporation source. A standard rotating stage ensures uniform film deposition, with an optional tilting stage available for more complex geometries. The unit has a compact footprint, measuring 350 mm wide by 420 mm deep by 440 mm high, and weighs approximately 18 kg. It operates at a chamber pressure of 20 Pascals or lower, with the stage rotating at 50 revolutions per minute, plus or minus 10 rpm. Power requirements are 1.4 kVA from a single-phase 100V AC source at 50 or 60 Hz.
