Dynamic Light Scattering Particle Size Analysis DLS

DynaPro™ ZetaStar™ Dynamic, Electrophoretic, and Static Light Scattering Instrument

Manufacturer: Waters | Wyatt Technology

SKU: DynaPro ZetaStar

Description

This instrument combines three analytical light scattering methods—dynamic (DLS), electrophoretic (ELS), and static (SLS)—into one platform for multi-parameter characterization of colloidal systems. It measures particle size and distribution via DLS, zeta potential and electrophoretic mobility via ELS, and molar mass, concentration, and turbidity via SLS. Designed for versatility, it analyzes samples including proteins, polymers, viruses, gene vectors, and various synthetic nanoparticles. Typical measurement times are around 15 seconds. The system supports both automated high-throughput analysis in microplate format and manual cuvette-based operation via its onboard interface. Sample volume requirements are low, with size measurements from 2 µL and zeta potential from approximately 65 µL. A flow-cell mode enhances precision for samples in challenging buffers. The instrument can also be interfaced with HPLC systems for automated fraction analysis.
