Description

The DMA 3200 is a high-force dynamic mechanical analyzer that employs patented ElectroForce linear motor technology. This motor design integrates powerful rare-earth magnets with a frictionless flexural suspension system to deliver precise control over applied force and displacement across a broad spectrum of frequencies and amplitudes. The motor can generate a maximum force of 500 N and control displacements from 1 micron up to 13 mm. The instrument supports testing in both static and dynamic modes, including dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA) and fatigue testing. The frictionless, moving-magnet architecture eliminates traditional failure points like moving wires and bearing wear, contributing to long-term operational durability and reliability. The motor is supported by a ten-year warranty. Its efficient, quiet, and lubrication-free operation permits installation in diverse settings, from research laboratories to production areas. The system includes a Forced Convection Oven (FCO) with a temperature operating range from -150°C to 600°C, providing responsive thermal control. An optional Large Sample Oven (LSO) is available, offering a range of -150°C to 315°C and a spacious interior suitable for testing larger components or samples. Air Chiller Systems (ACS) provide sub-ambient cooling via gas flow, removing the dependency on liquid nitrogen. A wide array of fixtures accommodates various sample sizes and geometries. The test frame and air bearings are engineered for high rigidity to ensure measurement accuracy on stiff samples. Multi-color status lights offer clear visual indication of instrument and test status. Instrument control and data analysis are performed using the WinTest® and TRIOS software packages.
