Description
The DXR3 Raman Microscope by Thermo Fisher Scientific is an integrated system for confocal Raman chemical imaging and microanalysis. It is designed to deliver high spatial resolution, reported as good as 540 nm laterally, and confocal depth resolution as fine as 1.7 µm under ideal conditions. The microscope offers multiple laser excitation options, including a 532 nm diode-pumped solid-state (DPSS) laser, a 633 nm helium-neon (HeNe) gas laser, and 780 nm diode lasers available in either frequency-stabilized single-mode or multiple transverse mode configurations. A Triplet spectrograph design and multidimensional calibration aim to maintain spectral accuracy and focus across the full range, which is captured in a single exposure from 3500 to 50 cm⁻¹. Operational features include automated fluorescence correction, cosmic ray rejection, and a Laser Power Regulator. A configurable GO button enables point-and-shoot operation with pre-defined methods for simplified use. Applications include particle identification, contaminant analysis, coating depth profiling, and polymorph characterization. User-exchangeable modules for lasers, filters, and gratings are compatible with other DXR3 instruments. The system incorporates viewing optics supplied by Olympus.
