DNA Extraction from FFPE Tissue

Designed for manual operation, this kit isolates DNA from formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections. It utilizes SPRI paramagnetic bead chemistry to recover nucleic acids from these preserved samples, which are often degraded and cross-linked. The procedure is validated for use with various tissue types and can process multiple 10-micrometer curls simultaneously. The workflow is streamlined to reduce hands-on time and eliminates the need for hazardous organic solvents like xylene, thereby enhancing laboratory safety. The resulting DNA is of suitable quality for molecular applications, including PCR and sequencing, despite the challenges posed by FFPE sample fixation.
