Description

Distek's Model 2500 Select dissolution instrument employs a bathless heating technology, which does away with conventional water baths and external circulators. This approach enables rapid heating of media, with the capability to reach 37°C from room temperature in less than 15 minutes, and supports operations at temperatures as high as 99°C. The instrument is configurable for standard dissolution methods, including USP Apparatus 1, 2, 5, and 6, along with intrinsic and small-volume applications. It incorporates the same patented wireless temperature sensors in the drive shafts for continuous in-vessel temperature monitoring and documentation. User control is provided through a color touchscreen interface for method storage, user management, and report generation. To aid compliance, the system allows for the entry and tracking of serial numbers for critical components like paddles and baskets, and includes configurable electronic reminders for periodic requalification. The design facilitates quick changes between apparatus types via interchangeable paddles and baskets and features automatic height adjustment. The bathless heating system is validated for compliance with major international pharmacopeias such as USP, EP, ChP, BP, and JP. The instrument dimensions are 27.5 inches in width, 19.5 inches in depth, and 38.5 inches in height, with a weight of about 75 pounds (36 kg).
