Description
The Discovery Core Rheometer from TA Instruments is a compact, benchtop instrument for measuring the flow and deformation properties of materials. It covers an extensive torque range from 0.5 micro-Newton meters to 125 milli-Newton meters, allowing for the characterization of substances from low-viscosity oils to stiff gels and pastes. The system performs a variety of test types, including flow curves, oscillatory frequency sweeps, and transient tests, to determine both viscous and elastic (viscoelastic) material responses. Instrument features include an automated gap-setting system with 0.1-micrometer resolution, a built-in Peltier temperature control system, and the Smart Swap 2 system for automatic tool recognition. With an integrated touchscreen interface for standalone operation, this self-contained rheometer is used in research, product development, and quality control for formulating and testing complex fluids like polymers, coatings, and food products.
