TopAir Systems Inc. manufactures a ductless cyanoacrylate fuming chamber designed for forensic laboratories to develop latent fingerprints on non-porous surfaces. This self-contained system creates a sealed environment where super glue vapors are introduced and allowed to polymerize on fingerprint residues. Evidence items are suspended within the chamber on adjustable rods. An automated processing cycle manages the heating element, humidity levels, internal air circulation, and a final purge phase. A defining characteristic is its recirculatory, ductless design, which employs an integrated carbon filtration system to capture residual fumes before clean air is exhausted back into the laboratory. This eliminates the requirement for permanent external ducting and facilitates unit relocation. Operation is managed via a control panel that displays all process parameters. The unit offers three preset programs and one user-defined program, with the option for fully automatic or manual control over temperature and humidity. Construction utilizes a polypropylene structure with safety glass panels. Additional features include energy-efficient LED lighting, an audible end-of-cycle alarm, and a pre-cycle audio-visual alert. The chamber is CE certified, and an optional chemical sensor can be added for monitoring vapor levels.
