Cutting Mill SM 50

Manufacturer: Verder Scientific

SKU: SM 50

Description

The Cutting Mill SM 50 is a benchtop milling instrument from Verder Scientific designed for reducing soft, medium-hard, and fibrous samples. Its operation is based on a cutting and shearing mechanism powered by a 1.5 kW motor, which drives the rotor at speeds up to 4,000 rpm, resulting in a cutting speed of 27 meters per second. The unit includes a batch hopper that accommodates material pieces with dimensions up to 50 mm. For particle size control, the mill uses interchangeable sieve inserts, available in apertures from 10 mm down to 0.25 mm, enabling final fineness to approximately 250 microns. A built-in cyclone assists with material flow and contains dust. The grinding chamber is designed as a removable push-fit component, simplifying cleaning and maintenance. Three double-acting cutting bars are fitted to the rotor, creating 18 cutting events per revolution. The overall dimensions of the instrument are 565 mm in width, 530 mm in depth, and 750 mm in height.
