Description

Applied Scientific Instrumentation's CRISP Autofocus System is a microscopy accessory that provides continuous focus stabilization for extended imaging sessions. It attaches to a microscope's standard C-mount port and functions by projecting an optical pattern onto the sample. Analysis of the reflected signal allows the system to detect focus drift and generate a correction signal for a compatible motorized focus drive, such as a piezo-electric Z-stage. This capability is particularly beneficial for time-lapse experiments or any application requiring maintained focus over long durations. The electronics are engineered for low-noise performance, enabling reliable focus locking on various sample interfaces, including challenging boundaries like glass and water.
