Description

The Countess 3 FL Automated Cell Counter extends the capabilities of the standard model by incorporating fluorescence detection. The system can be configured with up to two interchangeable fluorescence light cubes, enabling simultaneous imaging in two fluorescent channels in addition to standard brightfield. This functionality supports a wider range of applications, including tracking fluorescent protein expression, analyzing cells stained with fluorescent viability or apoptosis markers, and performing multiplexed assays. Like other Countess 3 models, it uses automated focusing and machine-learning-based image analysis to deliver cell counts and viability data in approximately 20 seconds per sample from a 10 µL volume. Operation is via a touchscreen interface, and the instrument is designed for minimal maintenance with no routine cleaning required. Data can be saved and exported via USB or cloud connectivity. It is applied in cell culture and analysis workflows.
