This Corning Elplasia 6-well plate is configured with round-bottom wells, a design often chosen for cultivating larger spheroids or organoids. The wells are constructed with black side walls and a clear bottom, supporting both macroscopic observation and bottom-read imaging. Instead of plasma treatment, the microcavity surface in this model is coated with an ultra-low attachment (ULA) material. This proprietary hydrogel coating actively inhibits cell adhesion, guiding cells to aggregate and form three-dimensional structures freely. A lid is included for the plate. As a member of the Elplasia family, it provides a scaffold-free method for spheroid culture, aiming to reduce protocol complexity and improve reproducibility in research areas requiring substantial tissue masses, such as developmental biology or certain cancer models.
