Description

The PCE-CSM 100 is a benchtop instrument for precise color measurement in laboratory and industrial quality control. It utilizes a D/8° geometry with specular component included (SCI), making it suitable for analyzing a wide range of surfaces, including glossy or textured materials. A full-spectrum LED light source captures data across the visible spectrum from 400 to 700 nm at 10 nm intervals, with each measurement cycle completed in roughly 1.5 seconds. The device calculates color values in multiple color spaces, such as CIE Lab, Luv, LCh, Yxy, CMYK, and RGB, and can determine whiteness and yellowness indices. For evaluating color differences, it supports several formulas including ΔEab, ΔEuv, ΔE94, ΔE00, and CMC. The instrument offers a repeatability of ΔEab ≤ 0.03 and an inter-instrument agreement of ΔEab ≤ 0.4. It includes a quality control function for setting pass/fail tolerances and features integrated electronic color tables to help identify the closest standard color match. Data management is facilitated by internal storage for up to 1000 color standards and 1000 sample comparisons. The unit is equipped with a 7-inch IPS display (1024 x 600 pixels) with multilingual support and connects to external systems via USB or wireless connection. It operates on mains power for continuous use.
