A variant of the standard-range bimetal thermometer, this Cole-Parmer model features a longer 9-inch immersion stem. The extended length allows the temperature-sensing element to reach deeper into tanks, pipes, or process vessels, which can provide a more accurate reading when the measurement point is far from the mounting surface. It retains the 5-inch dial with back-connect mounting and operates on the same bimetal coil principle. The dual-scale dial indicates the common industrial range of 0 to 250°F and -20 to 120°C. This instrument is particularly useful for applications involving deep containers, large-diameter pipes, or any setup where a standard 6-inch stem would be insufficient for proper immersion.
