Cole-Parmer Evaporator/Concentrator, Heated Manifold Gas, 12mm tubes; 120V

Manufacturer: Cole-Parmer

Description

This evaporator/concentrator unit is designed for processing multiple liquid samples held in tubes with a 12mm outer diameter. It employs a combination of controlled heat, an inert gas stream, and vacuum to accelerate solvent removal. The core of the system is an aluminum heating block, or manifold, drilled with holes to accommodate the tubes, ensuring consistent thermal transfer to each sample. An integrated gas distribution system directs a flow of inert gas, such as nitrogen, across the surface of the samples to aid evaporation and help protect oxygen-sensitive materials. When connected to an external vacuum pump, the reduced pressure environment further lowers solvent boiling points for more efficient processing. Operating on 120V power, this instrument is suited for batch-mode concentration of samples in workflows like HPLC or GC-MS preparation, organic synthesis, or general biochemistry, where gentle yet rapid solvent evaporation from multiple tubes is required.
