Description
CMET Process Software from Bruker Optics is an application designed for the integration and management of spectroscopic instruments, especially Near-Infrared (NIR) analyzers, in industrial process settings. The software emphasizes reliable, unattended operation and includes an embedded watchdog function that can automatically restart the application following a system anomaly without manual input. Built on the OPUS platform for spectrometer control and data processing, the software is divided into two primary sections: a configuration module and a runtime module. The configuration module offers a graphical, modular interface for setting up complete measurement scenarios. This involves defining the spectrometer parameters, specifying products and their acceptable quality ranges, and establishing communication links with external process control systems. The runtime module executes the configured scenarios. It provides an operational dashboard showing active tasks and generates trend charts for monitored product parameters. This interface is delivered via a web browser application, permitting remote monitoring and data analysis from any networked computer. To facilitate integration with industrial automation infrastructure, CMET supports standard communication protocols including analog 4-20 mA signals, Modbus, Profibus DP, and OPC. This allows connectivity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and distributed control systems (DCS).
