Description
CloneSelect Imagers, cataloged as CSI and CSI FL by Molecular Devices, LLC, are automated systems for imaging and documenting mammalian cell colony growth. They are compatible with SBS-standard microplates in 6, 12, 24, 96, and 384-well formats. The base CSI model uses a xenon flash lamp for white-light imaging, scanning a 96-well plate in under two minutes to measure confluence. The CSI FL model adds multichannel fluorescence detection (GFP/RFP) alongside white light, enabling applications like single-cell verification. Accompanying software automates analysis, generating growth curves, heatmaps, and time-lapse montages. These imagers are intended to standardize and increase throughput in cell line development and gene editing validation, replacing manual microscopy. Options for integration with robotic plate handlers are available.
