Description
BMG LABTECH's CLARIOstar Plus is a flexible microplate reader supporting multiple detection modes for life science applications. Its optical configuration combines filter-based detection with LVF Monochromator™ technology, allowing for wavelength selection across a broad range—from 240 nm to 900 nm with a red-shifted PMT. Supported detection methods include fluorescence intensity, fluorescence polarization, time-resolved fluorescence, AlphaScreen/AlphaLISA, luminescence, and UV/Vis absorbance. The reader accommodates plate formats from 6 to 1536 wells, including a specialized low-volume LVis plate. Features include a high-energy xenon flash lamp, a dedicated laser for Alpha assays, rapid autofocus, and spectral scanning. An optional Atmospheric Control Unit (ACU) can manage gas levels for live cell studies. The instrument is noted for its reading speed, with a 96-well plate read in approximately 9 seconds in flying mode.
