Description

The ChemiDoc Imaging System from Bio-Rad is a gel documentation workstation suitable for standard gel imaging and basic fluorescent or chemiluminescent detection. It employs a 6-megapixel cooled CCD camera for image acquisition, which helps reduce thermal noise during longer exposure times often required for low-light applications. For illuminating samples, the system is equipped with trans-UV, trans-blue, and epi-white light sources. The imaging cabinet provides a fixed field of view measuring 21 by 16.8 centimeters, accommodating common gel and membrane sizes. This instrument is configured for laboratories requiring reliable documentation of stained nucleic acid or protein gels, as well as straightforward blot imaging.
