Description

This Beckman Coulter Life Sciences kit is designed for the purification of cell-free DNA (cfDNA) from liquid biopsy samples, including plasma, serum, and urine. The procedure uses magnetic bead technology to bind and isolate cfDNA, which typically consists of short, fragmented nucleic acids present at low abundance in circulation. The protocol can accommodate sample volumes up to 5 milliliters, with DNA yield generally proportional to the input volume. The resulting purified DNA is of a quality suitable for sensitive downstream molecular applications, such as quantitative PCR, digital droplet PCR, and next-generation sequencing (NGS) libraries. The chemistry is optimized to co-purify inhibitors that can interfere with enzymatic reactions, making it compatible with samples collected in specialized tubes designed for cfDNA stabilization.
