Description

The Cary 5000 from Agilent Technologies is a high-performance double-beam spectrophotometer that combines ultraviolet-visible and near-infrared (UV-Vis-NIR) measurement capabilities. It covers an exceptionally broad wavelength range from 175 to 3300 nm, with the extension into the NIR region facilitated by a PbSmart detector. This makes it suitable for advanced research on materials such as semiconductors, coatings, and polymers. The instrument features reference beam attenuation for measuring absorbance beyond 8.0 AU and offers variable slit widths as narrow as 0.01 nm. Its large sample compartment accommodates accessories like integrating spheres for diffuse and specular reflectance studies, with a LockDown mechanism ensuring reproducible positioning.
