The BRAND Transferpettor is an analog positive displacement pipette engineered for liquids that are problematic for standard air-displacement models. Its mechanism uses a piston in direct contact with the liquid, which fully empties the disposable tip to reduce sample retention. This approach delivers consistent accuracy for challenging fluids such as viscous solutions, foaming liquids, volatile substances, and high-density media. The instrument is rated to handle viscosities up to 20,000 centistokes and densities as high as 13.6 g/cm³. Typical uses involve pipetting oils, concentrated proteins, surfactants, resins, and solvents like alcohols and acetone. By minimizing liquid left in the tip, it can allow for tip reuse with the same sample, potentially lowering consumable costs. This model is available in a volume range from 100 microliters to 10 milliliters.
