Description

The Biotage Lysera is a benchtop bead mill homogenizer for grinding, lysing, and homogenizing biological samples. It is used in pharmaceutical bioanalysis, forensic testing, and clinical diagnostics. The unit offers a speed range from 0.8 to 8 meters per second, adjustable in 0.15 m/s increments, and accommodates sample volumes from 20 microliters to 50 milliliters. Its design features a front-loading format with a removable tube carriage for easy loading and the option for pre-cooling. The system can store 99 user-defined programs for consistent processing and includes sample temperature monitoring. A selection of disposable tubes and specialized bead mixes is available for processing diverse samples, including soft and hard tissues and microorganisms, while reducing cross-contamination. The carriage motion is engineered to optimize bead movement, aiming to increase disruptive energy, minimize sample heating, and improve homogenization efficiency and analyte recovery.
