BioSpec-nano Small Volume Spectrophotometer
Manufacturer: Shimadzu
SKU: BioSpec-nano
Description
Shimadzu's BioSpec-nano is a micro-volume spectrophotometer for quantifying and assessing nucleic acids and proteins. It functions with a single-beam optical system across a wavelength range of 220 to 800 nm, offering a wavelength accuracy of ±1 nm. The instrument is designed to measure extremely small sample volumes, typically 1 to 2 µL, without the need for conventional cuvettes. Automated processes handle sample positioning, measurement, and cleaning of the optical surface to enable fast analysis cycles. Internal components include a xenon flash lamp, a holographic grating monochromator, and a photodiode array detector. For quantitation, it provides different optical pathlengths: a 0.2 mm path for high-concentration samples and an optional 5 mm cell adapter for measurements at lower concentrations.
