Description

The BIOne Mixing System from Distek provides a versatile drive platform for benchtop stirred-tank bioreactor operations. A key characteristic is its compatibility with two distinct vessel types: traditional autoclavable glass vessels and pre-sterilized single-use liners. Glass vessels with total volumes from 0.75 liters up to 10 liters can be utilized, allowing for steam sterilization. Alternatively, the same system base can accommodate single-use bags or liners, available from 0.9 to 10 liters, facilitating a rapid switch to disposable workflows. This dual capability enables a laboratory to employ a single control and drive unit for varied process needs, supporting both reusable glass bioreactors for established processes and single-use systems to minimize cross-contamination risks and eliminate cleaning validation. The system is applicable for cell culture and fermentation processes at the benchtop scale.
