Description

The BeNano 180 Zeta Pro is an integrated analyzer from Bettersize Instruments designed for the detailed characterization of nanoparticles and colloidal systems. It employs a combination of three established light scattering methods within a single instrument. Dynamic light scattering (DLS) is used to determine particle size distributions across a broad range from 0.3 nanometers to 15 micrometers. Electrophoretic light scattering (ELS) measures zeta potential, providing data on particle surface charge and suspension stability. Static light scattering (SLS) contributes information on molecular weight. Detection is handled by an avalanche photodiode (APD) detector utilizing a 173-degree backscattering angle, a configuration that enhances performance with concentrated or light-absorbing samples. The system includes programmable temperature control with an operational range from -15°C to 110°C. An optional autotitrator accessory allows for automated zeta potential measurements across a pH gradient, facilitating the determination of a sample's isoelectric point. This instrument finds application in diverse fields such as pharmaceutical development, nanomaterial research, life sciences, food and beverage analysis, and the study of paints, inks, and coatings.
