Description
The BELPORE Mercury Porosimeter is an analytical instrument for determining the pore and particle size characteristics of solid materials. It operates on the principle of mercury intrusion porosimetry, where mercury is forced into a sample's pore structure under controlled pressure. The pressure required for intrusion is used to calculate pore diameter, allowing for the generation of a complete pore size distribution profile. The instrument is available in configurations for low (LP), medium (MP), and high-pressure (HP) operation, enabling a broad measurement range. For pore size diameter, the LP model covers 180 to 3.25 µm, the MP model covers 15 to 0.0065 µm, and the HP model covers 15 to 0.0036 µm. Corresponding particle size diameter ranges are 330 to 15 µm for LP, 40 to 0.015 µm for MP, and 40 to 0.01 µm for HP. This technique is applicable to various materials, including chemicals, battery components, ceramics, and cement, providing data on pore volume, specific surface area, and density.
