Description

The BD FACSDiscover A8 Cell Analyzer is a spectral flow cytometer designed for high-parameter cellular analysis. Unlike conventional cytometers, it captures the full fluorescence emission spectrum from each cell, which allows for superior resolution of complex multicolor panels. This spectral unmixing technology minimizes issues with overlapping fluorophore signals, enabling the simultaneous detection of up to 78 fluorescence parameters alongside 8 scatter and imaging channels. The system incorporates an acoustic focusing fluidics mechanism that gently aligns cells for analysis, helping to maintain cell integrity and ensure consistent data quality. For increased throughput, an automated plate loader is available to process multiple samples from microtiter plates. The platform is supported by specialized software for data acquisition, spectral unmixing, and multidimensional visualization. It is suited for advanced research applications in immunology, oncology, and drug discovery where detailed phenotypic characterization of cell populations is required.
