BC43 Benchtop Widefield & Confocal Microscope
Manufacturer: Oxford Instruments
SKU: BC43
Description
Oxford Instruments' BC43 is a compact benchtop microscope that integrates widefield and confocal imaging capabilities. It is suited for research areas including cell biology, neuroscience, cancer research, and tissue imaging. The system uses a camera with a 4.1-megapixel sensor (2040 x 1992 resolution) and a 6.5 µm pixel size. Imaging modes include widefield epifluorescence and transmitted light techniques such as brightfield and differential phase contrast (DPC). The confocal mode provides optical sectioning to reduce background haze. Optional super-resolution modules can be added to achieve resolutions as fine as 140 nanometers. Image acquisition is managed through Fusion software, and the system is frequently bundled with Imaris software for 3D analysis. Its integrated design and benchtop form factor make it suitable for laboratories with limited space.
