Designed primarily for western blot analysis, the Azure 600 Imaging System provides multiple acquisition modes for chemiluminescent, fluorescent, and visible light detection. It incorporates a 9.1-megapixel camera and offers a field of view of 20.5 x 16.5 cm. The system supports various imaging techniques, including standard endpoint capture and a cumulative imaging mode. In cumulative mode, the instrument automatically combines multiple short exposures, which can enhance the signal-to-noise ratio and expand the dynamic range for more accurate quantification of protein bands with differing intensities. Its lighting capabilities encompass NIR, RGB, UV, blue light, and dedicated chemiluminescence imaging. The fixed-aperture lens and cooled CCD camera are housed in a compact benchtop unit that includes a darkroom hood to shield sensitive chemiluminescent reactions from ambient light. Users can select from pre-configured resolution settings to manage image detail and file size. The accompanying software facilitates the capture, analysis, and export of image data. This system is intended as a dedicated solution for laboratories requiring consistent and sensitive documentation for routine western blot and other blot-based applications.
