Description

The Axon Digidata 1550 System is a data acquisition digitizer for electrophysiology recordings. It is engineered to provide precise command voltage output control and a high sampling rate. The system supports simultaneous recording from up to eight cells, which is useful for studying neuronal network functions in neuroscience research. For ion channel studies, it enables high-resolution data acquisition by capturing more data points in a shorter time. The unit features eight independent analog input channels, each capable of digitizing signals at rates up to 500 kHz. Correspondingly, it provides eight independent analog output channels for command voltage delivery and eight digital output channels for controlling peripheral equipment in complex experimental setups. Each input channel utilizes a dedicated analog-to-digital converter to minimize crosstalk and maintain high data acquisition rates. Connectivity is via USB 2.0, compatible with computers running Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit or 64-bit). The system offers 16-bit resolution for a high signal-to-noise ratio. All signal connectors are located on the front panel for easy access, and the device is housed in a rack-mount case for organized integration into an electrophysiology setup.
