Description
Designed as a general-purpose instrument, the AUTOPOL II automatic polarimeter serves budget-conscious contract labs, food testing facilities, and academic chemistry departments. It provides multiple measurement modes: Optical Rotation, Specific Rotation, Specific Rotation with Concentration, user-defined scales, and °Z Sugar Degrees. Accuracy is specified at 0.01° Arc Optical Rotation or 0.03°Z. A notable feature is the option for a second measurement wavelength at 546 nm, in addition to the standard 589 nm. Like other Rudolph polarimeters, it utilizes durable Glan Thompson calcite polarizers. The unit includes a temperature probe for displaying and logging sample temperature across a 10°C to 100°C range. However, it lacks active temperature regulation, making it less suitable for applications demanding extreme thermal precision, such as many pharmaceutical analyses.
