Description
The GTS-Series Automated XYZ Gantry Translation Stage from Applied Scientific Instrumentation is a motorized positioning system for precision motion control in imaging, inspection, and profiling applications. The standard configuration provides 380 mm of travel in both the X and Y axes and 100 mm of travel in the Z axis. Movement is driven by closed-loop DC servo motors along precision bearing guide assemblies, enabling smooth and accurate positioning. The X and Y axes achieve a maximum speed of 100 mm per second, while the Z axis moves at up to 7 mm per second. Typical positioning resolution is under 3 microns for XY axes and below 0.1 microns for the Z axis, with bi-directional repeatability generally better than 5 microns and 1 micron, respectively. Optional linear encoders can be added to enhance resolution down to 10 nm. The stage is designed to be highly configurable, with options for integrating cameras, video microscopes with motorized zoom and auto-focus, and various lighting solutions. This flexibility allows it to be adapted for diverse automated tasks requiring precise three-dimensional sample manipulation.
