Description

The Automated Plate Seal Remover from Azenta Life Sciences automates the process of removing adhesive or heat seals from microplates. It is designed to eliminate the manual, repetitive task of peeling seals, thereby reducing the risk of repetitive strain and potential cross-contamination. The system uses a proprietary removal tape to lift seals cleanly from the plate surface, with a single roll capable of performing up to 400 removal cycles. It can process a broad range of plate types, including full-skirted PCR plates, low-base microplates, and deep-well plates with capacities up to 2 ml. An integrated verification feature helps confirm successful seal removal. The unit can operate as a standalone device or be integrated into automated liquid handling and robotic systems via its RS232 serial interface. It has a footprint of 374 x 638 x 374 mm (W x L x H), weighs 35 kg, and functions within an ambient temperature range of 0°C to 40°C.
