Aura PTx System Particle Analyzers
Manufacturer: Waters | Wyatt Technology
SKU: Aura PTx
Description
The Aura PTx System is a particle analyzer designed for the detailed characterization of protein formulations during therapeutic development. It utilizes a combination of backgrounded membrane imaging (BMI) and two-channel fluorescence membrane microscopy (FMM) to provide data on protein aggregates without requiring cleaning between measurements. This system is engineered to detect, count, and characterize particles, including excipients and drug products, using a minimal sample volume of 5 µL. It can distinguish between protein-based and non-protein particles, such as those resulting from polysorbate degradation, within a single measurement. The instrument measures particles with an equivalent circular diameter (ECD) ranging from greater than 1 µm to less than 5 mm. Typical measurement times are approximately one minute per sample for BMI and 30 seconds per sample for FMM across three fluorescence channels. Its primary application is in accelerating formulation screening and stability analysis by enabling early-stage aggregate detection.
