Description
Gilson's ASPEC 274 System is an automated platform for solid-phase extraction and liquid handling. Its four-probe Z-arm architecture allows for the parallel processing of four samples, enhancing operational efficiency. The system uses positive pressure extraction, facilitated by a specialized sealing cap and a syringe pump, to deliver reproducible results and accurate dispensing. Mobile rack technology enables multiple fraction elutions and extractions per sample, as well as sample transfer after the SPE process is complete. To ensure reliable operation, a pressure-sensing module monitors each fluid path for errors such as excessive cartridge pressure or line blockages. Integrated jet wash rinse stations help minimize cross-contamination and sample carryover. Control is provided through TRILUTION® software, which accommodates various applications, including SPE and liquid-liquid extraction, on the same instrument. Throughput can be optimized by running samples in either batch or sequential processing modes. The software also supports multiple elution steps and parallel solvent testing for efficient method development. Standard system features include racks for 1, 3, and 6 mL SPE cartridges and a bed capacity for unattended processing of up to 144 samples. It supports multiple fraction elutions (up to nine with 1 mL cartridges) and allows for multiple sequential extractions from a single sample. Eluates are transferred into sealed injection vials, and the system provides access to seven solvent reservoirs. The single syringe pump can utilize air push from its syringes or an external air source. A modular design permits the use of various collection tubes, ranging from 2 mL vials to 15 mL tubes (16 x 100 mm).
