ASPEC® 274 LV System

Description

The ASPEC 274 LV System is a large-volume automated SPE and liquid handling platform from Gilson. A defining feature is its four-probe Z-arm, which enables the parallel processing of four samples, significantly increasing throughput. It employs positive pressure extraction with a unique sealing cap design to improve reproducibility, with accurate volume dispensing managed by a syringe pump. The mobile rack technology includes multi-collect capability, a requirement for many large-volume regulatory methods, and allows for sample transfer in closed vials post-SPE. Each probe is connected to a sample selection valve, enabling the management of large sample volumes without consuming excessive bed space on the liquid handler. This provides flexibility for both small- and large-volume SPE applications. Optional dual-drain mobile racks can separate aqueous and organic waste streams to reduce disposal costs. System reliability is supported by a pressure-sensing module that provides error handling for high-pressure conditions or clogged lines, monitoring each fluid path individually. Optional jet wash rinse stations are available to reduce carryover. The platform is operated via TRILUTION® software, which supports multiple liquid handling applications like LLE and SPE. Users can process samples in batch or sequential modes and utilize features like multiple elution and parallel solvent testing to accelerate method development and automation.
