This Anti-Iba-1 Polyclonal Antibody, supplied unconjugated by FUJIFILM Wako Chemicals (Catalog 019-19741), is a research reagent for detecting the Ionized calcium-binding adapter molecule 1 (Iba-1) protein. Iba-1 is a marker specifically expressed in microglia and macrophages. The antibody is validated for use in immunocytochemistry applications. It is particularly useful for identifying and studying microglial cells in complex tissues like the brain. Researchers often employ this antibody in double-labeling experiments, for instance, in combination with an antibody against GFAP (glial fibrillary acidic protein) to simultaneously visualize microglia and astrocytes, respectively, within the same tissue section or cell culture.
