Description

Esco Technologies' Airstream® Polymerase Chain Reaction Cabinet is designed to mitigate contamination risks during nucleic acid amplification workflows. A key feature is its HEPA-filtered laminar airflow, which creates a clean work area superior to conventional dead-air boxes. The cabinet includes a high-intensity UV lamp for decontamination, rated above 120 µW/cm², and is fitted with a fluorescent light source providing over 90 foot-candles (970 lux) for workspace visibility. Constructed with user safety and sample integrity in mind, it features an antimicrobial coating and a spill-containment tray. The external dimensions for the base model are 28.8 inches in width, 24.3 inches in depth, and 37.4 inches in height, with wider configurations available. This unit serves as a dedicated station for preparing PCR master mixes and handling templates, helping to prevent cross-contamination and false results.
