Description

The Airstream® Polymerase Chain Reaction Cabinet from Esco Technologies is engineered to provide a controlled environment for sensitive PCR procedures. It utilizes HEPA-filtered, unidirectional airflow moving at 60 feet per minute to establish an ISO Class 4 work zone, actively protecting samples from particulate contamination. This design represents an advancement over traditional static PCR enclosures. The cabinet incorporates a programmable 254 nm UV lamp for decontamination cycles, with a protective front cover to contain UV radiation. An integrated dished tray manages spills, and an antimicrobial coating with silver ions helps inhibit microbial growth on surfaces. The unit is equipped with energy-efficient, quiet operation and a microprocessor for real-time airflow monitoring. Available in multiple widths, with exterior dimensions starting at 28.8 inches wide by 24.3 inches deep by 37.4 inches high, it offers flexibility for different laboratory setups. LED lighting provides over 84 foot-candles (900 lux) of illumination. Its compact design allows for placement on a benchtop and it is suitable for housing instrumentation such as real-time PCR machines.
