Description

This horizontal laminar airflow workstation, the NuAire AireGard ES NU-240, is built to maintain an ISO 14644-1 compliant clean zone for product-centric tasks. It employs a horizontal airflow design where HEPA-filtered air is propelled across the work surface in a unidirectional, laminar stream, effectively sweeping particles away from the critical zone. Typical uses include the preparation of sterile injectable drugs, IV solutions, and work with tissue cultures, optics, or microelectronic assemblies. The bench is strictly for product protection and provides no barrier for the operator; consequently, it is not approved for use with hazardous biological materials (CDC Risk Levels 1-4). The standard configuration is for bench-top placement, but an optional stand can raise the work surface to a standard 30-inch or 36-inch height. Illumination is provided by fluorescent lights, with an LED lighting system available as an alternative. The unit incorporates design features aimed at optimizing airflow uniformity, light quality, and operational quietness.
