Description
Designed for common laboratory assays, the Agilent BioTek Synergy LX is a multimode microplate reader that automates measurements in UV-Vis absorbance, fluorescence intensity, and luminescence. It is compatible with plate formats from 6 to 384 wells. The system is available with either monochromator-based or filter-based optical systems. For absorbance, it offers a broad wavelength selection from 200 nm to 999 nm in 1 nm increments. Fluorescence detection utilizes photomultiplier tubes (PMTs), with options for a standard low-noise PMT (320-700 nm) or a red-shifted PMT (320-850 nm). Typical applications include nucleic acid and protein quantification (e.g., using UV absorbance), as well as colorimetric assays like ELISA, BCA, and Bradford protein assays. The instrument can be operated via a large touch screen interface with onboard software or through the comprehensive Gen6 data analysis software, which provides instrument control and includes pre-configured experiment protocols.
